Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shakar is the American and British sitar artist. She was the first woman of her generation to receive the British House of Commons Staff. Anoushka shankar is one of India's rising stars in the sitar. She is Ravi Shankar's student, and the daughter. Born in 1982, she was raised in London. The first few years of her life included a period of time in London as well as New Delhi. At the age of 13, her first show in New Delhi took place. Then she relocated into Encinitas CA where she graduated from High School with honours in 1999. Although she is still very young Anouskha is an accomplished performer and recording record. She often joins her father in performances this she's done for several years. She has released Anourag her debut album on her own in 1998. The album was released in 2002. her Grammy award-winning album Live At Carnegie Hall. The stage is a very significant part of her work. She's performed at many important venues across the globe. Anoushka's career does not only involve music. In 2002 she published a book entitled Bapi The love of My Live this is a pictorial biography which pays special tribute to her father Ravi Shankar. In 2003, she appeared as an Bharat Nathyam young dancer Dance Like a Man. Anoushka shankar is a rising superstar and her fame will keep on growing. Anoushka Shakar, born in England lived the majority of her adult life in London Delhi. Following her move to California she completed the high school. When she was 9 she began her studies in music alongside her father. The first time she performed on the Sitar took place during her birthday celebrations for her 75th birthday in Delhi just four years later. Alongside her father, he toured the world Anoushka racked up a wealth of performances on stage at Carnegie Hall while still in her teens performing at Peter Gabriel's WOMAD festival and performing alongside George Harrison. She was the youngest and sole female winner of the House of Commons Shield awarded by British Parliament in recognition of her musicianship and talent as a preeminent musician of music in Asian Arts.
